At the recent EGM on 23 February 2019, owners approved the budget for the comprehensive maintenance/repair, and re-grouting of all pools. Other than closing the pools in July 2017 for the repairs at the problematic areas, comprehensive maintenance has never been carried out at Quayside since the hand-over to owners in 2013. Implementing comprehensive maintenance of the pools within this year is in direct response to the expert advice given to us by independent consultant CGB subsequent to an exhaustive survey on the condition of all pools undertaken in December 2017.
Taking into account the holidays for both local and international schools in Penang, we are giving Residents advance notice of the Complete Shutdown of The Pools from 1 September to 20 October 2019. Kindly plan your holidays and the visits of your guests accordingly. As always, we will try our best to finish all works promptly so that we can open the pools as soon as possible. Our apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
Works to be done:-
Water in ALL the pools will be drained, including the Toy Park, Waterslides, Jacuzzi, Hot/Cold Spa pools
A through check will be carried out throughout all the pools.
Popped up/cracked/damaged tiles will be replaced.
All underwater electrical wiring/lighting fixtures in the pools will be throughly checked and faulty items will be replaced.
After all works are completed - through cleaning/repainting, where required, will be undertaken.
Upon completion of the cleaning/repainting works the pools will be refilled with water to operational levels.
Prior to re-opening the pools, and after the pools are filled, the necessary chemical will be added (Chlorine 70/90, Soda Ash, Salt, Sulphate Alumina and Hydro Chloric Acid (2 days for water circulation) to get clean and clear water which will then tested to ensure satisfactory chemical balance.
